An Extended Schools provides a range of services and activities, sometimes during or beyond the school day, to help meet the needs of children, their families and the wider community. By 2010, the Government's aim is for all schools to offer extended services in partnership with neighbouring schools, local providers and local authorities.
As as Specialist Sports College and through the work of Mrs Critchley, our Community & Extended Schools Coordinator, we are committed to improving our extended schools provision and provide a vast range of activities and clubs for our students, their parents and the wider community.

• Quality childcare
We provide a range of extra curricular activities from 8am through to 6pm for our students, as well as high quality holiday clubs for children between 5-14 years.
• Out of school activities
We offer a varied menu of activities offering extended learning opportunities, study support, out of school hours learning, revision classes, sports, enterprise activities, music tuition, dance and drama, arts and crafts, and special interest clubs to name but a few.
• Parenting support
We offer parent support information, transition support, parental involvement, family learning and training or support for parents and their families.
• Swift and easy access to a wide range of services
We provide access to a wide range of specialist support services such as speech therapy, child and adolescent mental health services, behaviour support and health and sexual advice services.
• Community access to school facilities
Through our 'Training Ground' facilities, we enable greater community use of our school facilities through the hire of our facilities, such as ICT suites, sports and arts facilities, and also via access to adult learning opportunities.
