Parents have an important and influential role in the educational achievements of their children. By effectively engaging parents in the education process, we can continue raising achievement in our schools and provide students with the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Parental engagement goes beyond being involved in activities in and around school. It is about parents and teachers working together to support the child’s learning in the classroom in the home.
Research as conducted by the SSAT (EPRA) shows that parents’ engagement in their children’s learning makes a difference – to their children and to their children’s achievement and success in a wide range of educational outcomes.
