Who Are Our Partners

Manchester Metropolitan University
The school has worked with MMU for many years providing ITT placements every year.  The school is a TLA registered centre.

Through our partnership we will become a centre for provision of masters and high quality CPD.  This will ensure that the school is able to develop teachers to the highest level.  This will help us to fulfil our Strategic School Improvement Target – “to ensure consistent high quality teaching and learning.”  This partnership will also place FGHS as a centre serving other schools and their teachers in Trafford.

The Outward Bound Trust
The school has worked with the OBT for over 25 years.  Last year the OBT committed to providing 40% subsidy for all girls to attend a residential Outward Bound course every year in years 7 to 10.

The OBT is an experienced Trust and as such their experience will be invaluable in operating our Well Woman Trust.  The partnership work will directly impact on raising self-esteem, self-confidence, leadership, problem-solving and teamwork amongst greater numbers of students, thereby removing barriers to achievement and learning.

SSL International
The school has been working with SSLI for the last 12 months.  They have donated £30,000 towards school projects and provided business mentors.  A representative is now a Community Governor.

This partnership will help the school to enhance governance, bringing expertise from business and two major areas of women’s health and well-being. This expertise will help the school to improve facilities and services thereby optimising conditions for learning and achievement.  The input of business mentors and contribution to enterprise will impact on the girls future capacity to achieve economic well-being.

Trafford Primary Care Trust
The school works with different sections of the PCT including the school nurse service.  We have been meeting with multi-agencies to discuss ideas for more collaborative working and centralising of resources.

This partnership will have a big impact on enhancing and directing resources to young women and their mothers thereby removing barriers to learning and achievement.  It will enhance the extended services provision for the community.

Trafford Community Leisure Trust
With the Sports Centre on our site and joint use for school and community we work closely with Sport Trafford.  We also host the North Trafford Sport Partnership as a Specialist Sports College.

This partnership will ensure the effective development of resources and facilities targeted to young women and their mothers as well as for the whole community.  Better levels of fitness will enhance capacity for achievement amongst the students.
